TIPS: HOW TO PREPARE IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY

WATER DAMAGE TIPS

  • Remove any excess water my mopping the area, if you can. 
  • Turn on the air to help add circulation to the space to encourage drying, especially in the summer. 
  • Remove any rugs or clothes to prevent any further molding or unwanted smells.
  • If you have any special art or valuable items, remove them from the property immediately. 
  • Remove any papers (i.e. books, magazines, etc.) from all surfaces. 
  • Do not turn on any electronic items. 

MOLD TIPS

  • Remove yourself, your family, and/or your employees out of the affected areas.
  • Turn off all air conditioning systems and fans.
  • Do not try to work on the area yourself, and do not touch the mold.
  • Do not try to use disinfectants on the mold.

FIRE DAMAGE TIPS

  • Change your air filters if possible. 
  • If water got anywhere near electronics or ceiling fans, do not turn them on. 
  • Do not touch any electronic items.
  • Clean out you refrigerators and freezers.
  •  Always keep your hands clean hen cleaning out your living areas. 
  • If you can, stay out of the home or building to prevent soot particles from spreading and embedding themselves into your furniture.
